purple monk's hood

I had to take this shot from beneath, it seems this strange but gorgeous bloom is a bit shy and one must work to see its beauty.

If anyone knows the name of this flower that I had never seen before today, please identify it for me. Thanks to my sweet stepdaughter, I  know it's called monk's hood. Thanks, Missy!

Neat perpsective on blooms. so often we see them from above or at a low eye level. Nicely done.

I've heard of Monk's Hood but never seen it before. Beautiful color!
